Answer: Combustion is the scientific word for burning. In a combustion reaction a substance reacts with oxygen from the air and transfers energy to the surroundings as light and heat. The products of a combustion reaction are called oxides.Combustible substances: Those substances which undergo combustion or burn are called combustible substances. For example: Paper, cloth, cooking gas (LPG), CNG, Kerosene oil, wood, charcoal, etc. Non-Combustible substances: Those substances which do not undergo combustion are called combustible substances.
