Answer:

plasma membrane :

Explanation:

The flexible nature of plasma membrane makes it semipermeable that helps it to exchange material with surrounding environment selectively. while as the cell walls are rigid because of the presence of the thick layers of the substances like cellulose in plants

The plasma membrane is much more flexible in nature as compared to the cell wall. The cell wall is present in the plants and is rigid in nature that is why it is known to provide rigidity and kind of supports to the plant body.

Unlike the plasma membrane, the cell membrane is not semi-permeable and it does not allow the exchange of gases or liquids. The cell wall is thick and rigid and plasma membrane is thin and flexible.

Presence of the cell wall is the reason why the leaves or the stem of a plant are able to bend up to some extent without breaking. After the limit of bending, the leaves break which means the rigidity of the cell wall was not enough to handle the pressure of bending.
