The moral of the poem is, it is not always beneficial to be too generous and hospitable, because not everybody comes with good intention. We should be very wise in taking these decisions. Some people just can't stand the happiness of others and have the intention of troubling them.

In the poem, name of the Louse is Creep ,which means 'that moves slowly' and name of the Mosquito is Leap which means 'that jumps so high'.
The names given to both the characters suits them really well ....
