Let the cost of one chair be Rs. x and that of one stool be Rs. y
ATQ,
3x + 2y = 1200....... (1)
5x + 3y = 1900......... (2)
To solve eq (1) and (2) first multiply eq (1) by 5 and eq (2) by 3, we get:
15x + 10y = 6000..... (3)
15x + 9y = 5700....... (4)
Now subtract eq (4) from eq (3), we get:
y = 300
Putting y= 300 in eq (1), we get: x= 1200 - 600 / 3 = 200
So now we know that the cost of one chair is Rs. 200 and one stool costs Rs. 300
Therefore cost of two chairs= 2 * 200 = Rs. 400
Cost of two stools = 2 * 300 = Rs. 600
Total cost = 400 + 600 = Rs. 1000
