Amoeba digest intracellularly, which is made possible by digestive enzymes that reduce large, intractable particles to smaller, simpler ones. Pseudopodia, which resemble fingers, aid in this process. The food particle is engulfed by the expanding pseudopodia.

The organ systems of planaria are quite basic. The gastrovascular cavity, pharynx, and mouth make up the digestive system. On the body's underside, the mouth is in the centre. To start the external digestion process, the mouth secretes digestive enzymes.

Digestion - The digestive system breaks down the food we eat into its most basic components, such as glucose (sugars), amino acids (which are the building blocks of protein), or fatty acids (that make up fats). The nutrients from the digested meal are subsequently transported to every cell in the body by the small intestine's absorption into the bloodstream.
