According to Nicolaus Copernicus, the sun is should be positioned motionless near the center of the universe. Earth and all the planets surround it, rotating around the sun in some circular paths that can be modified by uniform speed and epicycles (Copernican)

According to Ptolemy, the sun, moon, and planets like Mars orbit the earth.  He thought that stars move around our planet earth every day and the motion of the biggest star - the sun, and the moon, as well as the planets was added to that first common motion of the entire universe or heavens. (Ptolemaic)

However, according to Danish astronomer, Tycho Brahe it was actually a combination of Copernican and Ptolemaic. He believed that the planets in the heavens of solar system revolve only around the sun but our planet is the center of the universe.  (Tychonic)

Therefore, with those contrasting explanations above, we can say that the comparison of these models of astronomical phenomena are that the Solar System consists of Sun, Earth and its moon, and the other planets. They all have their own orbits and there's a uniform speed and paths for them.

Answer:

Three of the most popular models exist the Copernican, Ptolemaic, and Tychonic models.

Explanation:

Models of astronomical phenomena

Three of the most popular models exist the Copernican, Ptolemaic, and Tychonic models. The Ptolemaic model understood as the Geocentric model, was created by Egyptian astronomer Claudius Ptolemy. It came from the Greek words geo meaning Earth and centric definition center.

Generally speaking, comparing exists shows the similarities, and contrasting is displaying differences between two things that are related in some way.

Nicolaus Copernicus existed a Renaissance polymath, active as a mathematician, astronomer, and Catholic canon, who acquired a model of the universe that positioned the Sun rather than Earth at its center.

  • The Ptolemaic Kingdom existed as an Ancient Greek state founded in Egypt during the Hellenistic Period.
  • Ptolemy's family governed Egypt until the Roman conquest of 30 BC. Like the earlier dynasties of ancient Egypt, the Ptolemaic dynasty rehearsed inbreeding including sibling marriage, but this did not begin in earnest until nearly a century into the dynasty's history.
  • The Tychonic system exists a model of the Universe published by Tycho Brahe in the late 16th century, which incorporates what he saw as the mathematical advantages of the Copernican system with the philosophical and "physical" benefits of the Ptolemaic system.
