Formal groups:
- Functions of formal groups are explicitly stated, in a club or in an organisation.
- The roles of the members are also well-defined and strong.
- For example, military or Indian railways are formal groups have command for decision-making.
Informal groups:
- These groups have no explicit rules and regulations.
