The comparison and contrast of the poems  "I Wandered as Lonely as a Cloud" by Wordsworth and "Fire and Ice" by Frost

Wordsworth and Frost were both Nature poets. Though they belonged to different centuries and different countries yet much of their thoughts and philosophy had starking resemblances.

This is very prominent from the two poems "I Wandered as Lonely as a Cloud" by Wordsworth and "Fire and Ice" by Frost.

In Wordsworth's poem he writes of his everlasting remembrance of the dance of a host of 'daffodils'.

The daffodils had left an indelible memory  in the mind of the Romantic poet. Whenever he was in a pensive mood the memory of the daffodils relaxed him.

The poem is a very soft and somnolent poem.

In the poem "Fire and Ice" by Frost, and the poem 'Snow' the poet experiences a similar experience.  A small gesture of Nature creates the deepest impression on the poet.

The similarity of both Wordsworth's and Frost's poems is in the fact that both are associated with Nature. Both the poems defy the activities of Man and seek solace in Nature.

The contrast of the the poems lies in the tone of the poem. Wordsworth's poem is more of a Romantic nature. It deals with the recollections of a beautiful sight of a string of daffodils dancing in the breeze along the beautiful bay.

Fire and Ice on the other hand expresses an anguish . It is set in a more serious tone and speaks of Man's anger and hatred which is compared to the layers of Hell.

Thus Frost's  "Fire and Ice" stands in direct contrast to Wordsworth's  "I Wandered as Lonely as a Cloud"  .
