All the suitors that had to marry Portia were renowned, but Bassanio was a normal man.Bassanio had true love for Portia , but most of the suitors that came to Belmont seeked the huge estate that Portia had inherited from her father.Most of the suitors who came to Belmont had mostly trains , but Bassanio, being a spendthrift ,had to borrow money from a moneylender, using Antonio's name ,so that he may reach Belmont.Bassanio had all the appreciable qualities that satisfied Portia, but others were not so good ,for which Portia forfeited their request.Most of the suitors refused to choose caskets in fear of losing Portia ,but Bassanio was quite brave and confident, that let him choose the right casket.
