Answer:

It's surreal to answer this question while sitting near( hardly 1 km) the ground where Battles of Panipat took place i. e Kaala Aamb (Black Mango).

I can point out a few similarities -

1) The involvement of Mughals in both battles ( Babur and Akbar in 1st and 2nd battle respectively)

2) Sheer amount of luck at Mughals’side along with good warfare knowledge.

It is generally held that Babur’s guns proved decisive in battle, firstly because Ibrahim Lodi lacked any field artillery, but also because the sound of the cannon frightened Lodi’s elephants, causing them to trample Lodi’s own men. No doubt that Babur's tactic of Tulughma and Araba worked wonders in the battlefield.

It is also true that had Sultan Ibrahim survived another hour of fighting he would have won, as Babur had no reserves and his troops were rapidly tiring. We must not forget that Ibrahim Lodi had 50000 soldiers vis-a-vis Babur’s 15000.)

3) Both the battles led to the consolidation of Mughal Empire in India.
