Generally, people migrate from rural to urban areas for financial/employment opportunities, but the precise reasons can be considered as either "push" or "pull" factors. Push factors comprise what pull the people move away from a place—for example, a lack of jobs or social chances.

Migration from rural to rural areas:

Migration from rural to rural areas refers to migration of people who migrate from smaller cities to bigger cities for better job opportunities and facilities.

  • The migration from rural to urban areas occurs when people move from the villages to the cities whereas migration from rural to rural areas depicts people moving from one village to another village.

  • One of the fundamental reasons that lead people to move from rural to urban areas is due to the economic advantage that urban areas present.
