Metals have there characteristic lustre the also possess the ability of being beaten into sheets and wires they have metallic bonding in between their constituent particles
whereas non metals don't possess any shine or lustre they may be solids liquids or gas...unlike metals who always are solids (except a few exceptions) they are non ductile non malleable no shine (except iodine in crystalline form) many more......
