they benefits are that by using fertilisers.. the growth of crops is highly protected and there is surplus production... the crops are of high quality .. disadvantages are that they disturb the natural behavior of soil and this polluting it.. slowly the soil loses its fertility and thus the farmers are inclined to use fertilisers even when they don't want to use it but they have to...
