in humans

The Canine are use to tear food.

The canines support the lips and face.

The premolars have a couple of sharp points on them.  They aren’t as sharp as the canines, but they can still help pierce and tear food.

Molars Crush and grind food.

They support your cheeks

Herbivores animals eat grass, vegetables , fruits and many more thing Except Meats or any kind of Flesh. So , they need the Molar  type of teeth to chew or crush the food well . So, they lack canines as they don't need to have Flesh eating things.
