Samoan Islands. 1. The Samoan islands are one of the large groups of small islands in the southern part of the Pacific Ocean. Till the 1920s, children in this island did not go to school. When the babies started walking on own, they were left under the care of their older brothers and sisters.
Both boys and girls looked after their younger siblings. At the age of nine years boys joined the other boys in learning outdoor jobs like fishing and planting coconuts. Girls continue looking after small children or do errands for adults till they were teenagers. After becoming teenagers girls had much more freedom.
