compare the power used in 2ohm resistor in each case:

6V battery in series with 1ohm and 2ohm resistors

4V battery in parallel with 12ohm and 2ohm resistors

Power = V^2/R

Power in First case = 6^2 / (1+2)
= 36/3= 12 Watts

Power consumed in second case = 4^2/(12*2/(12+2))
16/( 24/14) = 28/3 Watts

Hope this helps.

Answer: P1/P2 = 3/2

Explanation:

V1 = 6V

R1 = 2ohm

P1 = V^2/ R

= 36/2

= 12W

V2 = 4V

R2 = 2 ohm

P2 = V^2/R

= 16/2

= 8W

~ P1/P2 = 12/8 = 3/2
