Diffusion is the movement of molecules from the aea of higher to lower concentration.
Rate of diffusion in greater in liquids is greater than in solids because molecules of liquids, unlike solids, are not tightly packed. They can move freely. They have more intermolecular spaces among them as compared to solids, so they mix up quickly.
