Native Americans were polytheists, and like most other tribal communities, they worshipped a mother goddess along with other deities. Due to the conquest of Christianity, the migrated "white men" of America were monotheists and they worshipped Christ, a male god.
Outraged by the fact that the natives worshipped a woman/women, the white people would try to "teach" them the ways of Christ, often violently and usually aggressivly.
