HIMALAYAN REGION
1.the himalayan ranges run in the west to east direction in the form of an arc with a distance about 2,400
2.the northern most ranges is known as greater himalayas or himadri to the south of greater himalayas is called lesserr himalayas or himachal.the southern most range of himalayas are callled shivaliks.
3.this region is well known for many hillstations like shimla,raniket,nainital,mussurie etc
4.the great perrenial rivers like indus,ganga and bramhaputra originates from himalyas
6.they are fed by glaciers making plains fertile



PENINSULAR PLATEAU
1.the indian plateau mainly compared of old crystalline,hard igneous and metamorphic rocks
2.peninsular plateau have malwa plateau on west side and towards east chotanagpur plateau.chotanagpur plateau is rich in minerals
3.rivers like godavari,krishna and tapati rivers originated in this plateau
4.the famous hill station ooty in nilgiris
5.one remarkable feature of peninsular plateau is black soil formed due to volcanic activity
