Compare the resistance and resistivity of the following three conductors.
C1- length = L, Area = A
C2- length = 3L, Area = A/3
C3- length = 2/3L, Area = 3A

◆ Answer-
Resistivity of conductor depends on material only and independent of its dimensions. Therefore, all these conductors will have same resistivity.

For conductor A-
Resistance is-
R1 = ρL/A

For conductor B-
Resistance is-
R2 = 9ρL/A

For conductor C-
Resistance is-
R3 = 2ρL/9A

Comparing these three-
R1 = (1/9) R2 = (9/2) R3
