Radio controlled cars (or remote-controlled/RC cars) are car models that are operated by battery or by gas and they can be controlled from a distance by using a specialized remote or transmitter with a radio-frequency link.

There are different types of RC cars. The Electric cars are powered by electric motors and with rechargeable cells made of lithium polymer, nickel-cadmium, and nickel metal hydride,

The Nitro cars are powered with glow plug engines and with internal combustion engines which is fueled by a mixture of nitromethane, methanol, and oil.

The Nitro-powered cars use 2-stroke engine rather than an electric engine and have a better mechanical wear than the electric cars. Therefore, the nitro cars run faster compared to the electric cars.

yes radio controlled cars do have different speeds
the radio controlled cars more by the signals supplied by the radio signals from the remote
they are powered by some small batteries or cell the more power or juice they have the faster the motor of RC car will work
another thing that effect its speed is is weight and aerodynamic structure. If the car is too big with weak machinery so the car will move slow and vice versa
