"One important aspect of the Harappan civilization was its well-planned town planning which was much ahead of its time.

The city had a very good drainage system and every household was provided with a well-planned drainage system. The streets composed of light posts, they were neatly placed and they showed signs of following traffic rules even in that era.Streets even had hamp pumps at regular intervals.

Modern India does not show any proper town planning and streets are not made following any plans. The drainage system is also not so well-developed like it was in the Harappan age.

Streets may have lamp posts but not all of them give light. Hand pumps are also not found as extraction of ground water is restricted.
