Compare water pollution between Delhi and sikkim
Answers
Answer:
Answer. Sikkim is located in the Himalayas with a rich forest cover making the air fresh. Whereas delhi because of stubble burning, traffic exhaust and many more reasons is very much polluted. The air quality index of sikkim classified it in a good state whereas the AQI classified delhi in a unhealthy or poor state.
The results for water quality in Sikkim were 32.01 to 96.71. The findings revealed that just a small percentage of the water samples (2.6%), or 85.3%, were in good condition. whereas According to a recent assessment by the "Centre for Testing done by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on the Bureau of Food Consumer Affairs," Delhi has the lowest rating of any major city in India for the quality of the water it supplies to residents.
- Additionally, SPCB Sikkim has mandated Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) to ensure that the treated water that satisfies the required standard is recycled and reused for cooling, flushing, cleaning, and gardening.
- More than 3,500 million litres of municipal sewage from Delhi are dumped into the river each year, and despite exaggerated claims to the contrary, more than half of this sewage is either left untreated or is not treated sufficiently, flowing directly into the Yamuna.
