Raja Rammohun was well versed in the ancient Indian text . Therefore he took a task to reinterpret the Vedas and Upanishads in Bengali. Which was the Language of Bengal. He laid down practice of Sati, child marriage and cast system is not sanctioned by the ancient Indian Text.

Jyotirao Phule receive his education in missionary school. Once, he was scolded by the Brahmin for joining marriage procession of the Brahmin. This incident change his life and he decided to fight against untouchiblity and casterism. He openly criticised the superiority of the Brahmin.
