In competition there is no room for creativity. When the idea is to reach a goal in the shortest possible time, before other competitors, one should act fast. Competition kills creativity. During fierce competition there is often a rush to reach the goal. This results in shortcuts and cutting corners to reach the destination first. The fine side of creativity is often lost and aesthetics ignored in the rush.
But competition also brings out creativity and innovation, as each competitor would want to showcase the best. How fast this creativity or innovation is implemented in order to reach the goal, is what finally decides the result.
