Whenever you go trekking or walking through a marsh, remember to watch out for leeches. Leeches look like earthworms but they are a nuisance. They cling onto the body of a human being or an animal and suck blood from it. Although it sounds horrible, it does not really hurt to be bitten by a leech. The leech usually drops off by itself after it has had its fill. In the past, leeches were used as a medical tool to suck out poison from the blood !
