1. Ionisation energy/potential: As we move from left to right in a period the no. of shells remain same but nuclear charge increases by 1 unit +ve in each succeeding element . Due to which force of attraction

increase and thus IONISATION ENERGY INCREASES .

Cause more energy is required to break that forces.

2.Metallic chracter: Dear ,Metallic character depends upon the ease of losing an electron. Since I have already explained above ki nuclear charge increase

so it becomes difficult for an element to loose electron.

Thus Metallic Chracter decreases.

3.Atomic radius: As we move along the period, the no.

of shells remain same and 1 unit +ve charge increase in

each succeeding element .The nuclear charge pulls

the shells toward itself. And thus ATOMIC RADIOUS

DECREASES.

4.Electron Affinity : It means the energy release when

electron is added to the gaseous atom.

So tell me ki which element attract the electron easier

Obviously that na which would have effective

nuclear charge .

So u know ki nuclear charge increases as we move along the period. As a result,ELECTRON AFFINITY WILL

ALSO INCREASE.

5. NON METALLIC CHRACTER: It increases along the period.
