Being A Father
Vikram was an accountant in a lumber company. He lived in a small apartment with his wife and children. He had two daughters. Their names were Mona and Shonali. They were sweet children. However their life was not as luxurious as that of their friends'. This was because Vikram was going through a period of financial crisis. He could barely even spend time with his family as he had to work for long hours to meet the needs of the family. Vikram's wife was bothered. She felt Vikram was not spending time with their daughters. This agitated her continuously. She finally confronted her feelings to Vikram. Vikram felt she was right. He hence decided to talk his family out to dinner and later movie the next day. He realised, not only did he need a break, that his dear daughters were in need of a treat. The next day Vikram left to office promising his family to return early so that they can proceed with their plans. However,as he entered office, he was informed that he has no choice but to stay back late to complete work. Deeply disappointed he informed his wife through the phone of this misfortune and persuaded her to to execute the plan without him. Later in the night ,as her drove home he was feeling guilty of having let his children down. He reached home, entered the house and saw his wife and children watching television. He was astonished as that time they should have been at the theatres and not at home. His children hugged him and told him the plan can happen another time. All they needed was some time with their father. Vikram was overjoyed.
Moral: Nothing else in the world,be it money or entertainment, can substitute true love.
