I was scared and kept staring at the lunch
box for a while. I was sure that something weird would jump out at me the moment
I opened the lunch box. I shook the lunch box and heard something rolling
inside. This frightened me even more.
My friends washed their hands and joined me to eat their lunch. They hurriedly opened their boxes and started eating. It was only after they had a few mouthfuls of food, they noticed that I had not yet opened my tiffin box. When they asked me why I was not eating, I hesitated for a while and told them the problem. They were excited and wanted to open it immediately.
Although I protested, they would not listen to me. I closed my eyes n fear as one of them grabbed the lunch box and opened it. Soon, I could hear them burst out laughing. Slowly, I opened my eyes and found that a cockroach had accidentally slipped into the box when my mother was packing my food. The insect as making its way among the grapes. This made the grapes roll from one side to another.
I was so embarrassed that I did not know where to look. Anyway, I could not eat my favorite food that my mother had packed because of the cockroach. I decided to go to the school canteen and buy something for myself. As I got up, my friends made me sit down and shared their lunch with me. It was such a wonderful moment. Until then, we had not done so in the past days. But, from then on, we made it a point to share our lunch.
