Why sodium reacts with oxygen❤

When sodium was heated and put into a jar full of oxygen it generates a lot of heat energy and light, when thereaction was over sodium oxide (Na2O) was left. The white powder in the jar was sodium oxide after thereaction between sodium and oxygen. hope it's help you if u like the answer mark as a brain list!!!!! Good.
