Chandpur was a little village along the outskirts of a dense forest. Just like humans go into the forest, sometimes the animals too came into the village.
One particular elephant was very fond of sauntering up and down the market street of the village. He liked looking at the colourful things on display there. He didn't harm anyone, but this particular tailor just did not like to see an elephant anywhere around his shop. The sight of the animal would anger him.
One day, the tailor stood at the entrance of his shop, hiding a needle in the palm of his hand. As the elephant passed by, the tailor pricked him with it. The angered elephant quietly walked a few steps to a dirty puddle, filled up his trunk with muddy water and then came back to the tailor's shop. The tailor was still standing at the door.
The elephant then unleashed a spray of dirty water on the tailor and his shop. The tailor's own clothes, the new clothes that he had stitched and the dress material that he was to work on, all got soaked. Each fabric was reduced to a muddy brown shade.
