.... suddenly, from the bushes a street dog pounced upon it. I was surprised and in an attempt to save the rabbit, I threw my football which I was carrying. It hit the dog right on its face and the dog ran away in pain. I picked up the rabbit; this time it didn't struggle to run away. It was a small, white coloured rabbit with brown patches and it had black pearly eyes. It was staring at me in such a pitiful manner that I felt a strong feeling of taking the rabbit back home and taking care of it.

My mother had a strong dislike for pets so I hid the rabbit in a box in one of my cupboards. Every day, after coming back from school, I would secretly feed the rabbit carrot and water.

Time passed very quickly and the rabbit had been fully cured. I would play with it every day and it had become a good companion of mine. I had named it Fabby.

Soon, my birthday arrived and I got many gifts that day. During the evening, I went to the park to meet up with my friends and took Fabby with me this time. At the bench, when I took Fabby out of my schoolbag, he(Fabby) saw Sam(a friend of mine) and instantly leaped upon him. Sam was confused and surprised and was also happy seeing Fabby. He hugged Fabby and Fabby licked him!

I was so confused at that moment seeing them hugging and all that I asked Sam hoe he know Tabby if she had never seen him. Sam giggled and explained," I bought this rabbit from the local pet store for your 'special' birthday present and took care of him for a whole month. But one day(that fateful day when I had found Tabby), while cycling home with the rabbit, I slipped and fell down along with that rabbit. It got injured and was bleeding. I kept it aside on the grass and while I was looking at my bruised knee, that rabbit had vanished!'
