EXPLAINATION
- We know that ,in acid H+ ions completely ionize in water so that they conduct electricity.
- While compounds like alcohols and glucose partially ionises into the water.
- That why Alcohol & Glucose are not considered as acids.
ACTIVITY
- Take 3 Beakers
- Name The Beakers as A , B & C
- Take HCL in beaker A , alcohol in beaker B & glucose in beaker C
- Make a electric circuit. Connect the wire with 3 beakers.
- Beaker, in which, the bulb glows, that Beaker contain acid because acids complete disassociates into water to form H+ & OH- ions which conducts electricity.
- This activity prove that the electricity passes through completely ionised liquids are acids.
