Magnesium ions : Mg⁺ or Mg²⁺
mass of magnesium atom and Mg²⁺ will differ by mass of two electrons. In one mole of magnesium (24.3 gms) , the difference is :
= 9.1 * 10⁻³¹ * 6.023 * 10²³ kg = 5.48 * 10⁻⁷ kg
= 0.548 mg
