Impulse
Impulse is force multiplied by the change in time which relates to Newton's second law because if a force is applied to cause acceleration, then the object must have a change in momentum, or impulse.
Newton's Third Law
When a force acts upon an object, the momentum can change (impulse). The force can be large with a short time period or the force can be low with a long time period, but the reaction is that they will be equal to each other.
