It starts from 13th group till 18th group in modern periodic table .

They have 3 to 8 electrons in their last shell.This is the only group which has presence of metals ,non-metal and metalliods.The metalliods.The metalloids are placed at the side of zig zag line on the left of zigzag line we find metals and on the right non-metal.
