 Based on the large-scale analysis of interest group influence across a wide variety of policy issues and interest groups, general conclusions concerning the determinants of interest group influence on European policy-making are drawn. In the light of the findings of this study, the contribution of this book to the literature on European politics and interest groups is highlighted by pointing out the implications for our understanding of the ED policy-making process, the democratic legitimacy of the European Union, and the study of interest groups more generally. Finally, open questions and directions for further research are discussed.
