Conclusion of maharashtra national parks
Answers
Answer:
As this volume draws to an end, what conclusions can we reach? How can we summarise our findings? For many years the forest of Mumbai’s national park was managed like a “fortress”—not that this prevented leopards from getting out nor thousands of slum dwellers getting in: what has it in common with the fynbos shrub of Cape Town’s national park, which is crisscrossed by asphalt roads as well as numerous economically disparate residential suburbs, which contribute to its image as a world-class city enhanced by the “nature” criterion?
Answer:
One of the oldest national park in Maharashtra is the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve
Explanation:
The Chandrapur district of Maharashtra state in India's state of Maharashtra is home to a wildlife refuge known as the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve. It is both the oldest and biggest national park in the state of Maharashtra. The reserve was established in 1955, and it is comprised of the Tadoba National Park in addition to the Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary. The reserve has a total area of 577.96 square kilometres (223.1 square miles), of which 577.96 square kilometres (223.15 square miles) are reserved forest and 32.51 square kilometres (12.55 square miles) are protected forest.
The word "Tadoba" comes from the name of the deity "Tadoba" or "Taru," which is worshipped by the tribes who dwell in the deep woods of the Tadoba and Andhari area. The word "Andhari" relates to the Andhari river, which is known to wind its way through the forest.
According to folklore, Taru was a leader of a hamlet who perished after having a run-in with a legendary tiger. Taru's death sealed the fate of his people. Taru was elevated to the status of a god, and a shrine on the shores of Tadoba Lake now bears his name and is housed inside a big tree. Especially during a fair that takes place once per year in the Hindu month of Pausha, adivasis are regular visitors to the temple (December–January).
These woodlands in the general area of the Chimur hills were previously under the dominion of the Gond monarchs. In 1935, the government put an end to hunting. Two decades later, in 1955, a national park was established in a section of this forest that included 116.54 square kilometres (45.00 square miles). In 1986, the surrounding woodlands became part of the Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary that was established there. The current tiger reserve was founded in 1995 when the park and the sanctuary were brought together to form a single entity.
