It was Portuguese who was responsible for discovering the sea route towards India. After the stay of three months in India Vasco Da Gama returned and he had cargo which he sold in the European market.

When Vasco Da Gama saw there was a lot of demand for the cargo he took with himself he went back to India again in order to have more cargo which he could sell in Europe.

Then there were Dutch who came to India in 1602, in order to have trade with the experts in Indian sea trade.
