Experiment: Take a candle of less height. Cover it with a inverted glass or container so that no air (oxygen) enters the container. After few second when all the air (oxygen) already present inside the glass is consumed, then there is deficiency of oxygen and hence the flame of candle extinguishes.

Take a small size candle and burn it, then put a glass upon it to cover so that the air can't come inside the glass and then after some time you will see that the candle will going to die.
