conduction of heat is not possible through gases.why?

it is actually done(refer to convection), it is just that gases are bad conductors of heat. this is cuz the molecules in gases are very far apart(by definition) and heat transfer is done thru molecular collision. since the molecs are far apart, when the gas comes into contact with another substance, the collision frequency is low, therefore its a bad conductor
