Concept: This is the question from the Mensuration topic. Here we asked about the curved surface area of a cone:

We find the CSA following formula

Curved Surface Area of Cone = \pi rl+\pi r^{2}

Given: Height of Cone= 15 cm

Diameter of Cone= 8 cm

To find: Curved surface Area of a cone?

Solution:

Now diameter is 8 cm then radius= 4 cm

height = 15

Slanting line (l)= \sqrt{4^{2}+15^{2}  }

                       = \sqrt{16+225}

                       = \sqrt{241} cm

The curved surface area of cone= \pi rl+\pi r^{2}

                                                      = \pi r(l+r)

                                                      = 4\pi (\sqrt{241} +4) cm^{2}

hence CSA of the cone= 4\pi ( \sqrt{241} +4) cm^{2}a
