Please help!!

Sometimes, we use \boxed{\bf 2,8,8,18...}

But, sometimes we use

\boxed{\bf 2,8,18, 32...}

Can anyone explain, with giving reason?!?

Answer:

We use both the rule for measuring the atomic number or for the electronic configuration. Both of them are compulsory because if we have to measure the elements having less atomic number then we can follow the first rule ☝️☝️.....

But if we have to find the electronic configuration of element having greater atomic number than we can use the another rule. Approximately both the rule will give the right answer.....

Take two examples for it.....

Ex.=

31= 2,8,18,3

40= 2,8,8,18,4

If we have to find electronic configuration of higher or greater elements than we use 1st method and for less atomic number elements we use 2nd method.

Both are correct but conditions for there uses are different.
