Extra Shots!

• The deferential speech language in Korean is used for public and/or formal communication settings.

• The deferential speech has four different endings for each sentence :

  • 1. Seunida/bnida. (declarative)

  • 2. Seubnikka/pnikka (interrogative)

  • 3. (eu)Sibseu (imperative)

  • 4. (eu)Sibsida (propositive)

★ About declarative :★

• For the declarative (statement), Seubnida is used when the stem ends in a consonant.

• When the stem ends in a vowel, bnida is used.
