(a) In the above loop, when KVL is applied, we obtain:

10i + 6 + 5i + 12 = 0

⇒15i = -18

⇒I = -1815 = -65 = -1.2 A

(b) Across the 5 Ω resistor, the potential drops = 5i = -6 V

(c) Across the 10 Ω resistor, the drop in potential = 10i = 10 x (-1.2) = 12 V

(d) In above loop, when KVL is applied, we obtain:

10i + 5i + 6 + 12 = 0

⇒I = -1.2 A                          

Across the 5Ω register, the potential drop = -6 V

Across the 10Ω register, the potential drop = -12 V
