The members of the Constituent Assembly of India was not elected through the system of Universal Adult Franchise. Its members assembled from different parts of India. They represented all social groups and communities of India and gave a picture of unity in diversity holding aspirations and desires of diverse groups. Since, the Constituent Assembly did not follow the system of Universal Adult Franchise in electing its members, it is regarded as undemocratic.
