Answer:

-Take a straight line AB= 4 cm

-then on the compass measure a distance of 3.8 cm this is your BC, now put the needle of the compass on point B and make an big arc over B

- now take the compass and measure the distance 5 cm this is your diagonal AC, put the needle of the compass on point A and drawn an arc towards the arc you made before over B, you should get an intersecting point of the 2 arch's mark it as C

- next take measure a distance of 3 cm this is your AD place the compass over A and drawn an arc.

- then again measure the distance of 4.6 cm this is your diagonal BD and put the compass on B and draw an arc towards the arc of Ad you drew in the step above; you should get an intersecting point mark this point as D

- Finally you see you have all the four points now join the points with straight lines and your quadrilateral ABCD is done.

Step-by-step explanation:

1 draw a line segment of 4 cm AB

2with the help of scale and compass measure 3cm and with A as a centre cut an arc

3 similarly measure 4.6 cm and B as a centre cut an arc which intersects the previous arc at point D. join AD and BD

4 with the help of scale and compass measure 3.8 cm and B as a centre cut an arc on another side

5 similarly measure 5cm and A as a centre cut an arc which cuts the previous arc at C

6 join BC and AC

7 join CD

therefore ABCD is required quadrilateral
