Answer :-

Steps of construction :-

1. Draw a quadrilateral ABCD .
2. Join diagonal AC .
3. From A draw a line AX below to AC such that, ∠CAX is an acute angle .
4. Draw 7 arcs of equal radii on line AX that intersect at x1, x2, x3, x4 , x5 , x6 and x7 .
5. Join x7 to C and than draw a line from x4 which is parallel to x7C and intersect diagonal AC at C₁ .
6. Now, from C₁ draw a line which is parallel to CD and intersect line AD at D₁ .
7. Now, from C₁ draw a line which is parallel to BC and intersect line AB at B₁ .

Hence, AB₁C₁D₁ is required quadrilateral with sides 4/7 of the corresponding sides of ABCD .
