  • Draw a line segment AB with 6cm
  • Construct 90° at A and B and extend to X and Y then angle XAB = 90° and angle YBA = 90°
  • Draw arcs from A and B with 4.5cm on AX and BY rays So that they cut AX at D and BY at C.
  • Join C and D
  • ABCD is the required rectangle .

Step 2 : Draw a right angle at B  on AB using protractor/setsquare

Step 3 : Take a length of 4.5 cm from B on angle drawn and label it as C

Step 4 : Draw a right angle at A  on AB using protractor/setsquare

Step 5 : Take a length of 4.5 cm from A on angle drawn and label it as D

Step 6 : Join CD
