WHAT IS SQUARE?

Square is a two diamensional quadrilaterial whose sides and diagonal are equal.

SOME PROPERTIES :-

1. Diagonal bisect each other at 90 degree.

2. Sides are adjacent to each other at 90 degree.

3. Sides and diagonals are equals.

4.Square is also a quadrilateral,rhombus ,rectangle and parralellogram.

REQUIRED MATERIALS :-

1. Pencil (sharped)

2.Eraser

3.Compass

4.Protactor

5.Scaled Ruler

CONSTRUCTING A SQUARE :-

GIVEN :-

Each side of square is 4.5 cm.

STEPS OF CONSTRUCTION :-

* Draw a line segment AB with length 4.5 cm by using ruler on your copy.

* Construct 90 degree by protactor or compass on point A and B.

For compass draw a arc On point A cut same arc to make 60 degree, another from there for 120 degree and bisect both for getting 90 degree. (shown on figure).

*Cut 4.5 cm on new lines formed on A and B marked them as C and D.

*Join CD to form square ABCD.

VERIFICATION :-

Measure CD it should be 4.5 cm if not there is some mistake.
